The city’s famous Victorian market hall is undergoing a significant programme of repair and refurbishment to once again become a vibrant retail, cultural and leisure destination.
Structural engineering
Sympathetic design and detailing of a new roof lantern structure, along with stairs and curved roof access ladder. Refurbishing and fixing the existing roof finials. Monitoring the historic cast-iron columns. Advising on the current structure’s capability to support the temporary works.
Geo-environmental engineering
Carrying out a detailed investigation for the new foundations, relocated internal columns and new lift pit.
Civil engineering
Public realm works, along with surveying the existing drainage and designing a new internal system.
