Adding value
The ground conditions across the site were extremely challenging, with compressible clays and peat, legacy foundations, contamination and the widespread presence of slag. Our geotechnical experts added value at every stage of this major regeneration programme.
We had an in-depth understanding of the site, including not just its settlement risk, but also its volumetric change potential. We worked with the remediation contractor to ensure placed material met the stringent volumetric change values of just 50mm. Based on rigorous testing and investigation, our robust designs helped shape the construction works and allowed our client to build with confidence.
