Civil engineering
Investigation of existing sewers and culverted watercourses. Complex SUDS attenuation scheme to apartment’s tower and public square. Off-site highway improvements. Foundation design advice and flood risk assessment, with recommendations for defences after collaboration with council engineers and planners.
Structural engineering
Engineering specification and regular site inspections for the demolition of existing buildings and detailed designs for all structural work. Very highly loaded
columns at site perimeter required cantilevered foundations, and also innovative foundation solutions to work around constraints.
Transport planning
Preparing detailed transport assessments,travel plans, site-access designs and internal layout tracking.
Geotechnical & environmental engineering
Site investigation, advice on foundations in challenging ground conditions. Location of historic obstructions, high perched ground water levels, deep made ground associated with historic basements and former Debenhams large scale foundations. Working with the contractor team through the site reclamation process. Environmental engineering, chemical testing and validation, gas testing associated with a former fuel filling station. Design of working platform for heavy piling plant.
