What we did

Dementia Nursing Home Unit

New build £3.4million dementia nursing home in Salisbury. Load bearing masonry, three-storey structure included the design of individual bedroom/living spaces, external balconies and large open communal areas, plus welfare facilities, such as offices, kitchens and laundries.

 

Derbyshire Royal Infirmary

Reclamation of former hospital site in Derby City Centre. Services provided include Project Manager, Structural Engineer, and Principal Designer.

Rodgers Leask prepared all NEC3 Works Information including requirements for demolition, earthworks, remediation, and reporting. Management and supervision of 18 month duration reclamation works.

Structural design and details for separation of retained Victorian era buildings, and specification for maintenance.

Completed over £100 million of multi-storey developments

 

Highfields, Broadway, Derby

Civil and structural services to a £2.5million project to create a new nursing home and conversion to the existing unit on site. Load bearing masonry with numerous steel frames to create open plan areas, individual bedrooms, welfare and utility spaces.

 

Mount Carmel House, Derby

In addition to the Highfields Dementia unit, Rodgers Leask was also appointed
to provide civil and structural design services for the construction of an assisted care unit for the Sisters of Mercy Convent. The works include the design of a load bearing masonry structure with concrete floor units.

 

Fresenius Renal Dialysis Units

Mixture of new and refurbished structures designed for the specific needs of renal patients, located on hospital sites nationwide.

Services include geo-environmental site investigations, reports and remediation strategies, design and detail of new build structures, and alterations to existing buildings.

Projects varied in size and each provided its own design challenge in respect of live hospital site working. Design solutions included the development of standard detail elements to be prefabricated off-site for subsequent easy construction, thereby minimising waste materials and labour, as well as improving quality and site safety.
