Ken Carter is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has been in the construction industry for over forty years, during which time he became a Senior Partner in Gleeds International Management and Construction Consultancy.
Having joined the firm’s Derby Office in 1972, he has enjoyed a successful and varied career, working on projects totalling in excess of £100 billion. His expertise is vast and ranges from providing Project and Cost Management services to Funding Consultancy and strategic advice to clients across a multitude of sectors.
His experience has enabled him to work with many of the largest firms in the UK on some notable projects both at home and abroad. One of his greatest achievements was the management of a £100m project to dismantle a Brewery and relocate it from the UK to China.
In 2012, his outstanding contribution to the property and construction industry was formally recognised with a Special Achievement Award at the East Midlands Property Dinner. The accolade highlighted both his unwavering enthusiasm and longstanding contribution to promoting the economic prosperity of the region.
More recently he has retired from Gleeds and has been involved on a consultancy basis in a non-executive capacity across numerous sectors, to include commercial, residential, leisure, education, infrastructure and health on a national basis.
